    Refuse Price Increase – Beginning May 1, 2018, the residential monthly fee for the trash/recycling program will change to the year 2 pricing per the 5 year contract.

    The increase will show up on the June Bill. Please remember that with the can program larger items can be placed at the curb during regular pickups. Please call Rumpke and let them know that the large item will be placed on the curb so they can make arrangements with the driver. This May 19th Annual Clean Up Day will be the final one due to the program with Rumpke.

  • Middlefield Senior Trash Pick-Up

    Register by May 11 with the Geauga County Department on Aging for Middlefield Village Senior Trash Pickup on May 18. Once registered, seniors can call to be placed on the trash pick-up roster. To receive trash pick-up assistance, you must be 60 years of age or older and live in Middlefield Village.

    The Department on Aging can no longer go into seniors homes to pick up unwanted items. The Middlefield Village Road Crew and the Department on Aging will pick up refuse from Middlefield senior’s garages, out buildings and drives. Do not put items curbside. Place unwanted items outside the night before the Trash Pick-Up. Please, only 10 household items per home, and trash should be from the registered senior’s household only.

    Please note the following guidelines: to prevent possible bed bug or other pest transferal, all mattresses, couches and upholstered furniture must be wrapped in plastic and taped securely or they will not be taken. The following items will not be accepted: construction/remodeling debris, liquids, paint or other hazardous materials, rocks, yard waste, or household garbage. Reduce wood or pipe to 6’ or less lengths. We can no longer accept televisions, computer monitors, or other small appliances with electrical components. Consolidate small materials in strong boxes or containers. We will accept unbroken car batteries, lawn mowers, and tires off the rim – four per load.

    For information and to register, call the Department on Aging weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at 440-279-2129, or 440-279-2130. Only registered seniors can be placed on the pick-up list. Those signing up for pick-up, please have a ready list of items needing removed.
