Parks in Middlefield!

May 1, 2020

Dear Middlefield Village Residents and Guests

The Responsible ReStartOhio Program released by Governor DeWine on Monday, 4/27/2020 states that all places of public amusement, including swimming pools and day camps, whether indoor or outdoor, must  remain closed per the existing Stay-AtHome Orders until the orders are amended or rescinded.      The danger of COVID-19 still exists, social distancing is required, and large gatherings of more than 10 people are still prohibited.

As we start to navigate through the reopening the Village must make certain decisions now that will keep residents, program participants, and staff safe and minimize the spread of COVID-19.

Village Park and Recreation Programs are cancelled through June. This includes all organized group recreation activities.  Additionally, all playgrounds, fields, basketball, skateboard, and volleyball courts, and picnic pavilions will remain closed.

The Village has made the difficult decision to not open the Eagle Park Splash Park has been made based on the current Stay-at-Home order.  Should there be a change to the order and conditions prove to be proper, an abbreviated splash park season could be had.

All Village rentals (community center and pavilions) remain closed to the public until further notice. The Maple Highlands Trail-South (buggy/bike path) will remain open to the public along with the walking path around Bob Giardina Lake. It is encouraged that all users practice social distancing and good hygiene.

As this current climate is always changing, programs and activities will be revisited as the State of Ohio provides additional guidance or orders.

Stay safe and healthy,

Leslie McCoy

Village Administrator
