A Message from Mayor Garlich and Council for our Safety forces!

From Mayor Ben Garlich and Middlefield Village Council,

Jan. 9 was National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. This day is important as, like a lot of things in life, our law enforcement officers are sometimes taken for granted. We want to take this opportunity to express our appreciation for our outstanding police department and for the Geauga County Sheriff’s Department, for their support of our community and county.

We are so grateful for the safety we feel being a resident of Middlefield Village. It is so valuable to the mayor’s position knowing our village has a police department that without fail will put the assistance and safety of our residents ahead of anything else, up to and including their personal well-being. I am confident that each and every situation will be handled correctly and professionally.

We’ve at times had situations that require additional support. The readiness, capability, strong relationship, and a synergy provided by the Geauga County Sheriff’s Office is an asset we also should not take for granted.

We want to assure Chief Joe Tucholski, Lieutenant Brandon Savage, Sergeant Justin Nevison, Officer Brandon Gray, Officer Julie Aveni, Officer Stephen Nadaud, Officer Brian Dawson, Officer Stephen Boxler, Officer Matthew Spitler, and Sheriff Scott Hildebrand and his department that we appreciate the safety they provide daily.

We appreciate their constant contributions while representing our village and serving our residents to the best of their ability. Their choice to dedicate their lives to public service is appreciated by all.
