SUMMARY:Tornado Siren Drill Testing - Statewide at 9:50am
DESCRIPTION:Tornado Sirens across the state will be activated 3-18-2026 as part of the statewide yearly drill at 9:50am. \n\n\nCommunities\, including the Village of Middlefield\, will participate in a statewide tornado drill to test the outdoor warning siren. \nThe drill coincides with Severe Weather Awareness Week (March 15-21). The awareness week is scheduled for the third week of March each year. More on Ohio’s Severe Weather Awareness Week can be found here:  https://weathersafety.ohio.gov/weather-safety/awareness-campaigns/severe-weather-awareness-week  \n\nDifference between Storm Watches and Warnings \n\n\nA Tornado WATCH means conditions are favorable for the development of tornadoes in and near areas designated by the National Weather Service. Be ready to move to a place of safety if the watch is upgraded to a warning or if threatening weather approaches. \n\n\nA Tornado WARNING means a tornado is imminent or has been sighted. Warnings indicate impending danger to life and property. Seek safe shelter immediately. \n\n\n\n
