HISTORICAL SOCIETY STUDENT ART SHOW
Our local youth are talented! Want to see for yourself? You’re invited to attend Middleﬁeld Historical Society’s annual Student Invitational Art Show to view the winners and all entries. The high school/middle school division will be on display for public viewing on Saturdays and Sundays, April 1, 2, 8 and 9 with participation by Berkshire High School, Berkshire Junior High School, Cardinal High School, Cardinal Middle School (grades 7 and 8 only), Chardon High School, Chardon Middle School, Grand Valley High School, Newbury High School and Newbury Junior High School. The elementary school division will be on display Saturdays and Sundays, May 6, 7, 13 and 14 with participation by Berkshire Burton Elementary School, Berkshire Ledgemont Elementary School, Cardinal Jordak Elementary School, Cardinal Intermediate School, Cardinal Middle School (grades 5 and 6 only), all four Chardon elementary schools and Newbury Elementary School. Art teachers from each school select the entries and put up the displays. Each division is judged professionally, with prizes and ribbons awarded for first place and ribbons awarded for all second place and honorable mention winning entries. A special Best of Show prize and ribbon will be awarded in the high school/middle school division. The show is held in the lower level of the Century Inn, 14979 South State Avenue (Route 608) in downtown Middleﬁeld. Open hours are from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The viewing area is handicapped-accessible. There is no admission fee, although donations will be gratefully accepted. Middleﬁeld Historical Society is a non-proﬁt organization dedicated to preserving local history. This year’s cosponsors are The Middleﬁeld Banking Company and Centerra Co-op; their donations help with a portion of the costs of putting on the show.
