Lindsay's Law
Information for the Coaches on SCA can be found by clicking HERE:
In accordance with Lindsay’s Law, Middlefield-Cardinal Youth Sports Program is required by the State of Ohio to collect signed forms from all parents and athletes. These forms are included with the registration application.
Lindsay’s Law is about Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in youth athletes. This law went into effect in 2017. SCA is the leading cause of death in student athletes 19 years of age or younger. SCA occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating. This cuts off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs. SCA is fatal if not treated immediately
More information on Lindsay’s Law, including the required forms and videos can be found on the Ohio Department of Health website.
